Smash
No hard cap, but a queue
Unlimited free size
Unlimited> 2 GB: queue | 7 days | No | TLS + AES-256Password included | from $10/mo
Why choose itSmash is the smart pick for a heavy video with no hard cap: above 2 GB, sending stays free but queues behind Pro transfers. Password and expiry are included on the free plan.
Watch outAbove 2 GB, free transfers are processed after Pro transfers and expire in 7 days. Pro's 1 TB active storage is cumulative, not allocated per transfer. See official pricing |

SwissTransfer
50 Swiss GB, no sign-up
50 GB | 1–30 days | No | TLS + AES-256Swiss hosting | from CHF 1.60/mo
Why choose itInfomaniak's service beats the field on free capacity: 50 GB per transfer, no account, Swiss hosting and a link you can set for up to 30 days.
Watch outA 30-day setting deletes the transfer on day 15 unless you accept the extension emailed to you. The cap stays at 50 GB with SwissTransfer Pro, bundled into kSuite plans. See official pricing |

MyAirBridge
20 free GB, no account
20 GBno password | 3 days | No | TLS on freeE2E from Pro | from €3.09/mo
Why choose itMyAirBridge offers 20 GB without signing up, a rarity for a one-off large send. The free tier is still limited: 3 days, no password and no end-to-end encryption.
Watch outThe €3.09 Basic plan unlocks neither passwords nor E2E: you need Pro at €11.59/mo, which raises the cap to 250 GB. There is no native app; everything runs in the browser. See official pricing |

Direct device-to-device transfer
10 GB | 48 hours | No | TLS + encrypted storageNo E2E claim | from $5.99/mo
Why choose itSend Anywhere focuses on direct device-to-device transfer: a six-digit key links two machines with no server storage. Classic link sharing is capped at 10 GB and 48 hours on the free plan.
Watch outFree links expire after 48 hours and downloads are capped at 10 GB per month. The public API was shut down on 31 March 2026; paid plans only raise the link cap to 30 GB. See official pricing |

5 GB | 7 days | No | TLS + AES-256Password included | from €3/mo
Why choose itTransferNow gets the basics right: 5 GB without an account, plus password protection and antivirus scanning on the free plan. A solid option for occasional sends.
Watch outThe free link expires after 7 days, and Starter (€3/mo on a two-year term) only raises the cap to 10 GB. 250 GB requires Premium, about €6/mo on a two-year term. See official pricing |

Built for repeat sending
5 GB | 7 days | Optional | TLS + E2E (Business)No encryption at rest | from $4/mo
Why choose itFilemail is built for repeat sending: history, resume, notifications and an API, plus an account-free mode for occasional transfers.

pCloud Transfer
pCloud's free web tool
5 GB | 7 days (adjustable) | No | TLS + AES-256Optional password | from €4.99/mo
Why choose itpCloud Transfer is a free, no-signup web tool tied to the pCloud ecosystem. It handles a one-off 5 GB send, with password protection and download notifications.
Watch outWeb only, with a 7-day link and speed restrictions on the free tool. The upload page sometimes mentions 200 MB per file, which contradicts the help centre: check before sending a large file. Lifting the 5 GB cap requires a separate pCloud Premium plan at €4.99/mo for 500 GB. See official pricing |

5 GBtotal quota | Expiry selectable | Yes | End-to-endZero-access | from $3.99/mo
Why choose itProton Drive is the only service here with end-to-end encryption on its standard plan. Ideal for sensitive documents, less so for sending 100 GB in one click.
Watch out5 GB of total storage and 5 GB per share on the free plan; Drive Plus ($3.99/mo billed yearly) provides 200 GB. No custom branding and no public API. See official pricing |

3 GB10 sends / 30 days | 3 days | Yes | TLS + AES-256E2E on Enterprise | from $10/mo
Why choose itWeTransfer remains the go-to for sending a creative folder quickly. Since late 2024 the sender needs a free account, but the recipient installs nothing.
Watch out3 GB, 3 days and 10 transfers per 30 days for free. The Starter price ($10/mo) is indicative; long-lived links and files up to 1 TB require Ultimate at $25/mo. See official pricing |

2 GB | 7 days (fixed) | Yes | TLS + AES-256No E2E | from €9.99/mo

Choose quickly
There is no universal winner. The right service depends on file size, how often you send, and what you are willing to entrust to the cloud.
“I'm sending over 50 GB and I can wait.”
Smash has no free size cap: above 2 GB, the transfer joins a queue. Password and expiry are still included.
“I'm sending 30 GB once, without creating an account.”
50 GB free per transfer, no account, and a link that stays live for 30 days. The obvious choice for a one-off large file.
“I send videos to clients every week.”
Filemail's Pro plan at $10/mo raises the cap to 250 GB, with download tracking and a branded page. A weekly client send finds its footing there.
“Privacy matters more than capacity.”
Proton Drive's zero-access encryption protects the content even from the provider. The trade-off: the free plan is capped at 5 GB of total storage.

From 48 hours to 30 days, depending on the service and plan: 48 hours on Send Anywhere, 3 days on WeTransfer and MyAirBridge, 7 days on most others, up to 30 days on SwissTransfer. Proton Drive lets you set the link expiry.
